Favorite Things of 2020: Cozy at Home.

Wow, what a year it has been! Really, has there ever been a year quite like 2020? I think not, and I would venture that you would agree. Any year lived, however, is laced with grace. There’s so much to be thankful for still. Today I wanted to join with friends to share with you some of my favorite things I’ve discovered as we’ve trekked through this year. Sometimes when everything feels a bit heavy it is needful to lighten the load a bit, and I hope that is what this post is for you, a bit of good fun and a bright spot here at the beginning of the week. So, let’s get right to it. This year my favorite things center around being cozy at home.

A sweet morning usually begins with a good cup of coffee. This year I discovered the delicious OAT-LY brand of oat milk. I didn’t think I could love a good latte more and then this milk came along. Most mornings I fill my frother with this goodness, and pour it over steaming coffee to add a little wakefulness and cheer to the day. Below you’ll catch a glimpse of a favorite recipe I created in 2020 coming later this week.

There’s really nothing better than taking a hot fresh cup of coffee and tucking yourself into a comfy chair, amiright?! This year I discovered these beautiful wood chairs. They are certainly on trend, but what might surprise is the fact that they are extraordinarily cozy. You could, quite literally, sit in these chairs for hours on end without tiring of it. That’s how you know a chair is a keeper I’d say.

After a morning pick me up it’s always a good idea to put dinner in the crockpot. A little early morning prep allows for full afternoons and evenings to contain a bit more ease, eliminating that run around the kitchen bit that tends to happen at day’s end. The only thing about crockpots is that they are usually not pretty to look at, and if you know me you know aesthetics are equal to, if not greater, than practicality. Well, imagine my delight when I discovered that the Magnolia Hearth & Hand had created a beautiful white crockpot, full of all the functionality I need combined with a dose of beauty for my countertop while the crock pot is in use.

If you’re toting around a newborn like me, you might look down and realize you’re still in your pajamas after getting your crockpot up and running. So, please let me introduce you to this cozy, pretty, long tunic sweatshirt that will keep you comfortably warm and your rear comfortably covered if you’re traipsing around in your leggings. This sweatshirt from Old Navy has been perfect for those cool autumn mornings that are starting to come a bit more steadily.

As the hustle and bustle of the day continues I enjoy lighting a high quality soy candle or diffusing some essential oils. Antique Candle Co. Country Pear exudes all the warmth and coziness of fall that I need. To be honest, I’ve enjoyed this candle in every season, and I love that it smells inviting, warm, and familiar while maintaining an air of uniqueness. It doesn’t just smell like every other vanilla-ish candle out there, and I love that fact.

Before the day gets completely away I like to take some not-so-quiet moments to read God’s Word. I have five kids y’all. It’s never too quiet around here. Nonetheless, I read. This year I received a most beautiful gift from my friend Misti, a painted Bible. It is gorgeous! Not only would it make a stunning Christmas gift, but the Words nourish the soul. Whatever translation you use, Misti usually can accommodate.

My most favorite gift of 2020 you cannot pick up from any store out there though. Iā€™m holding her I right next to my heart which is appropriate because she has quite overtaken it.

Thank you so much for walking with me through a few of my favorite things from this year. If you thought it was fun you certainly won’t want to miss out on the other blogs in this blog hop. If you love gathering ideas like I do head on over to Evolution of Style for more 2020 favorites. Thank you for sharing a small portion of your day with me. It’s no small thing. Hope to see you around these parts again soon.
