I imagine your pretty faces behind that screen and just wanted  to tell you today that if you’re building a life in our Lord… repenting, changing, growing in His Word… you’re building something beautiful.

You are building something beautiful.

In life you can always build or tear down. You can always use your blessings to create something wonderful or to destroy. Remember in Proverbs when the writer says, the wisest of women builds her house, but a foolish woman tears hers down with her own hands? You can stretch out your hands to serve and love others, or you can use stingy hands to steal joy and peace and love from your own home. We are always doing one thing or the other.

The way you build something beautiful is to repent and come close to Jesus, by knowing Him more. There is no other way. It doesn’t matter if your home is all sorts of loveliness or if it’s just simply put together. It doesn’t amount to much of anything at all if your clothes are in style or if you’ve got the latest trend in shoes or handbags. There’s a way to measure beauty that’s superficial and false, and there is a way to measure it that’s true and since our God is the perfection of beauty shining forth from Zion, if He shines in you… YOU become strikingly, stunningly beautiful.

Christ Jesus fits us perfectly, adorns us preciously, and makes us what we were created to be.

If you’re anything like me you wonder sometimes… Am I accomplishing anything; am I doing anything of value? Is who I am ok? The answer is unequivocally yes if you are in Jesus repenting, changing, and growing in Him. There is a uniqueness woven into the depths of all that we are, and it was placed there by the Lord. No one can become who we alone are meant to be in our generation, in our time on this earth. You were fitted with the precise gifts you have been given… your personality, your own husband, your set of children, your place of employment, your church family… You have been given all these things uniquely so the purposes of God on high might be accomplished in His Kingdom. Do not think your purpose lacks grandeur. The call of GOD is the grandest call of all. God is calling you.

How can insecurity remain? There is probably not a soul in existence that doesn’t long to know that they are valuable and how few souls realize how deeply invaluable they are. Not because they are so special, but because God is so kind to love us. It is His love that gives us our value. It is Son who gives us a place among the children of God. The Son who offered up His life to win our souls into His forever Kingdom..

You’re not valuable, because of the things you do. You’re not worth much because of your zip code or bank account. Your value doesn’t come from others and their opinions of you. Your inherent worth is found deep in the heart of our triune God.

This virtual world can leave you racing to catch up to whatever it is you’re aspiring to be, but there is another way to think/live. It is with the deep rooted knowledge that Christ Jesus is enough. All of this… every material thing you see every bit of human praise and accolade, will amount to nothing in the end… There is only One whose commanding voice matters and whatever He says stands and will stand. He is the solid rock a life can be built on. He is the fortress that has power to save us. You can get roped into competing, comparing, and glaring at other people’s lives… We can spend our days wishing life were this or that way, or we can take what our good God gives and make all the more of it to His great glory and our eternal good.

You really can build something beautiful out of what Christ has done for you. You can create something no one else can and whatever that is… do it.

There is no adequacy in us to meet the call of God, but God fills us with an otherworldly power and works His Spirit so mightily within us that whoever would yield to Him would with great certainty become all God meant them to be.

This is what I invite you to see. You have been invited to the global stage of life to accomplish your purpose in this generation. And just as Isaiah, Daniel, Esther, Ruth, Rahab, Samuel, Noah, and Enoch answered God, we too answer… Let our answer to His call be a complete yes with our whole life, a resounding… Here am I, send me. We are not adequate for these things. But God works mightily in me to will and act according to His good pleasure.

So let’s live today for the One who matters. For the glorious King who saw death undone and saved us with His own blood. That Man and His Kingdom last forever. And by all means let’s love the ones He created. Build something beautiful.
