So many things can fill us up in a day. Our hearts fill with to-do-lists and agendas and too many times we spill impatience and quick anger. Our hearts fill…aimed at pleasing others and we spill insecurity like crazy. Our hearts fill with worldly distraction and we lose our way…wondering aimlessly as though lost through the dark world. Our empty hearts were always meant to be filled. And if you have had your nose in a Bible for some length of time, we know Who is meant to fill them. But temptation lingers and false gods masquerade their pretend salvation a plenty on the sod of earth. If we persist in our own ways we will be the duped ones every time, but if we marry our minds with the wisdom of the God-given Word we will live beautiful and free.

The only way a house can transform into a home, into a place of actual ministry, is for your own heart to be an actual dwelling place for our glorious Savior.

How lovely are Your dwelling places, O LORD of hosts!

Psalm 84:1

The dwelling place of God is lovely indeed and if you belong to Jesus lovely is what you are. Still we know that sometimes our hearts fill with deceptive vices. We the saved tempted to live as though lost. We the saints tempted to live as though in the dark. And our hearts all the while longing to be full. Longing to be filled again and again with the Holy Spirit.

The only way to become hospitable is to submit to the One who is the epitome of such grace.

The Beautiful Father inviting us, the orphaned, into His Son. Giving us the Exalted One’s very inheritance; seating us with Christ in heavenly places, blessing us with every spiritual blessing…He made Himself our Home.  Invited us in. Teaching us by virtue of Gospel wonders that we are to invite others into our homes and into our lives because they are dear to us as are hearts have been warmed by the very Breath of God blowing through us as we read divinely inspired Words of truth.

Interior design is for me a happy place, because I love to make things beautiful, to change something or move it to enhance beauty all the more. Our God is like that about us. He will give. He will take away. He will make the void of our depths conspicuous to us so that we call out to Him, because here is only One source of water that is living. There is only One source that fills us and makes us increasingly beautiful. Only One who can move us from one degree of glory to another, and that is our God.

If you want a home beautifully filled with the will of God, let God fill your heart beautifully….

And then spill with grace what He has given, and however that act of faith looks, that right there is your ministry.
