When you trust an alarm system, bloated bank account (or want one), when hope is in 401(K)s and Roth IRAs, or the insurance, or health care, when joy is bound to possessions, trends, and the stuff that the tainted world esteems…
When protection, safety, security travel to you falsely by worldly means, you are robbed. Truly, wretched, poor, and pitiable, because places where moth and rust destroy cannot secure you. It was a lie, the vice grip of idolatry.
Why are we bowing before gods that cannot save?
The protection is His name. The strong tower is His name. The trust is His name.
And His name is the Lord.
Always.
